Shaker Collective – Terms of Use

These Terms of Use ("Agreement") govern your use of the Shaker Collective community, hosted on the Mighty Networks platform ("Platform"). By accessing or participating in the Shaker Collective community ("Community"), you agree to abide by these Terms of Use, as well as any additional guidelines or policies that may apply.
If you do not agree to these Terms of Use, you must immediately cease use of the Community.
1. Purpose and Scope
1.1 Purpose: Shaker Collective is a digital platform designed to support, educate, and connect hospitality professionals. The Community provides a space for users to share content, engage in discussions, and access resources related to career development, mentorship, and industry growth.
1.2 Scope: These Terms apply to all users ("Users," "Members," "You") of the Shaker Collective Community, including guests, members, and administrators, regardless of whether they contribute content or simply participate in discussions.
2. Intellectual Property Rights
2.1 Ownership: Shaker Collective retains all rights, titles, and interests in and to the content, materials, and resources made available through the Community ("Community Content").
2.2 License to Use: You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to view and interact with Community Content for personal, non-commercial use.
2.3 Your Content: By submitting content, you retain ownership but grant Shaker Collective a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, display, and promote your content within the Community. This includes permission for Shaker Collective to feature content in highlights, roundups, or community recognition posts across the Shaker Collective platform and associated communication channels.
3. User Conduct and Responsibilities
You agree not to:
- Post content that is illegal, defamatory, obscene, or harmful;
- Engage in harassment, hate speech, or discriminatory behaviour;
- Post spam or unsolicited promotional material;
- Impersonate any person or entity.
3.3 Moderation: Shaker Collective may remove content or suspend accounts at its discretion.
Shaker Collective may also limit features or visibility for accounts repeatedly reported by community members, pending review.
4. Reporting Violations
4.1 Reporting: Users may report violations via the in‑platform "Report" function or by contacting Shaker Collective at hello@shakercollective.com.
4.2 Investigation: Reports are reviewed and, if necessary, acted upon accordingly.
5. Disclaimers and Limitations of Liability
The Community is provided "as is." Shaker Collective is not liable for damages resulting from use of the Community.
Content and views expressed by members do not represent Shaker Collective or its partners.
6. Term and Termination
Shaker Collective may suspend or terminate your access at any time for violations of these Terms.
You may delete your account at any time.
7. Modifications to Terms
Shaker Collective may modify these Terms at any time. Changes become effective upon posting.
8. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Kingdom.
Disputes will be resolved through binding arbitration in the United Kingdom.
9. General Provisions
If a provision is found invalid, the remaining terms still apply.
10. Age Requirement
You must be at least 18 years old, or of legal age that allows you to consume alcohol or seek information on alcohol in your respective jurisdiction.
Shaker Collective may suspend accounts found to be underage.
